Amazon dethrones Walmart 👑

Amazon’s Q4 2024 revenue is set to hit $187B, surpassing Walmart’s $180B. Only four S&P 500 companies crossed the $100B mark this quarter, with Apple and UnitedHealth joining.

📊 Amazon’s $187B Milestone

For the first time ever, Amazon is projected to surpass Walmart in quarterly revenue, hitting $187B vs. Walmart’s estimated $180B in Q4 2024. This historic shift highlights Amazon’s dominance in e-commerce, AWS, and advertising. Despite this, Walmart still leads in annual revenue, expected to reach $681B, while Amazon is closing in at $638B. The battle for retail supremacy is heating up.

💰 The $100B+ Club

Only four S&P 500 companies exceeded $100B in Q4 revenue: Amazon, Walmart, Apple ($124B), and UnitedHealth Group ($101B). Apple continues its streak, fueled by holiday iPhone sales, while UnitedHealth benefits from growing healthcare spending. CVS Health and McKesson are close contenders, with revenues nearing $95B. As retail, tech, and healthcare reshape the leaderboard, Amazon’s climb signals a seismic shift.
